When in 1998 or 99 it was announced that NZ Rail would be sold to private ownership, I knew that meant many of the passenger services would be terminated. So I went to NZ in April 2000 and did a train video tour over four weeks all the way from Auckland to the southern tip of the South Island with 128 or so 45 min videos now online with my commentaries and music from my 12000 records and CDs. Many of the train lines I videoed were subequesntly closed.
